Support RAD because RAD is RAD!
WE SUPPORT
Check 'em out.
CAL POLY POMONA
Okay, we'll be honest. We wouldn't love this school so much if it weren't for Session [A]. Truthfully, many of us applied to Cal Poly Pomona because of it or decided not to transfer out because we found a reason to stay. Being part of Session [A] actually helped us do better in school. Cal Poly Pomona and Associated Students Inc. Bronco Events and Activities Team (ASI BEAT) supported us in 2003 when the Session [A] founders wanted to do it big.
THE UPPERGROUND
One of the founders of Session [A] put this together to further educate and build community through hip hop. Dan had a vision and he made it happen. Join The Upperground and stay in the loop with Southern California hip hop sessions.
ACRYLICK CLOTHING
In the fall of 2005, a guy named Raney "DJ WREX" Balbuena of Acrylick came to Session [A] with a box of shirts made just for us. That wasn't where it started though DJ WREX and his WAX MUNKIEZ CREW made an impact at many Session [A]'s and Strictly Sessions- it seemed like his posse made up half the audience way back in the day. And they never forgot about the ladies! It's 2008 an we're still getting hooked up by Acrylick on occasion. Big thanks to Mike and rest of Acrylick Clothing!
An old flyer (who do you see?):
CIVIL GROUND
Taken from their site: "Civil Ground isn’t trying to be anything other than itself, and that’s all we expect in return. We’re out to bring you the stuff we like, and hope you also like. We respect the artists of the world, whether they create their art using a paint brush, skateboard, or a needle and thread. We’re not trying to represent one idea, one city, or one style. We believe in one world, and one love. Follow the golden rule, know that life is short and always Live Free." We have plenty of good things to say, but they said it better.
More to come later...

Stop the Violence....or Stop Supporting The Bull That Labels Push For
So last week, KRS One gave a pretty thought provoking lecture at Session A. Some of the things he spoke about were 50 cent (which made many people confused about themselves), some other things about violence, and how rap or hip hop, whichever you prefer, is the long lost brother of the WWF, or WWE (whichever you prefer).
I guess there's a reason why they changed Federation to Entertainment, and why most "musicians" stuck under the tight grip of record labels must live in this crazy world we know as the entertainment business. I can only imagine what this world would be like if it was called the expression business.....or.....how about World Wrestling Expressions, or something. These people are being payed to entertain, payed to give people what they want and what they're used to, which are guns, bling, tig ol' bitties, tailfeathers, supermanning, and fresh fits.
So why do so many people hate on it?
Why is the Game so f***ed up? (interpret that however you want)
Is it because the rap stars do their job and make records about getting shot, so that millions can sell, so that labels stay happy, so that they can make a living, and so that rappers like 50 cent can go home and wish they were underground so he wouldn't have to deal with all these politics?
or is it because people don't buy records that sound like the Procussions, and continue to think that you gotta be hard, and have 30 inch rims (or whatever the new regulation is) in order to be stunting like my daddy, and continue to support the bullsh** that labels (not the artists) push for.
No wonder why people love to be underground and have creative control..........
I really don't feel like typing this up anymore......
I think most should get what i'm trying to say.......(if you want to take it out of the Hip Hop world, a good example is Britney Spears compared to Christina Aguilera, and P!NK)
If you don't, wait till this stop the violence movement hits the masses, and you can follow along with the rest of them in a year or two.......
For those who came out to the lecture, thanks again.....
Not only for the support, but for representing what Session A is really about......
OPEN MINDS!

ALBERTOS
The KRS-ONE lecture was last night but we'll recap Albertos first since we have images ready. Our photographer-at-all-times, Gail, hooks it up with the pictures for all random outings. After every Session [A] event, we go out to eat. You'll usually see us at IN-N-OUT but we've gone there the last two times. The [A] Team changed it up- ALBERTOS!

KRS-ONE TONIGHT!
We would like to emphasize that tonight's event is a lecture and not a performance. Seating is first come first served and it's all free. Pay for parking- it's only $5 or we guarantee that parking enforcement will leave you with a white envelope under your windshield wipers. Don't test your luck. :)
By the way, if you're like us, you're anticipating the season premiere of LOST tonight. Ramsey, Steff and Jason are hardcore about it. Gail is way behind because she doesn't watch tv. Chris is stuck on 30 Rock. If you'd like to discuss LOST with us, go right ahead.

SESSIONA.COM
SessionA.com hasn't been updated, and our Myspace page has been the number one source for Session [A] information. Steff and Chris, the current leaders of Session [A], have so much to do for the remaining of their school year, so G4D and Gail made their New Year's resolution as webmasters: to re-do the site and make it fully-functioning. For now, please continue visiting our Myspace page, add us as a friend, and watch out for our regular bulletin postings. This blog will also be updated regularly until the original site is running again.
There's an event happening next Thursday, January 31. Stay posted!
MYSPACE.COM/SESSIONA
We'll leave you with a picture from our last event, Strictly Sessions, on January 10.
